It was no surprise that Ana Egge's debut CD "River Under The Road" found its way onto every "best of" list in her adopted hometown of Austin, Texas. Since its '97 release on Lazy S.O.B Recordings, not only has the CD garnered enthusiasm from some of Austin's top music critics, it was also received warmly by the national press. Many exciting opportunities are falling into this brilliant young singer/songwriter's path and rightfully so. With the guitar she built herself and a surprising amount of talent, Ana joined a tour with Jimmy Dale Gilmore visiting the northeast, opened for Jane Sibbery, Richard Thompson, and also supported Iris Dement on a west coast tour.

Soon after she won "Best Singer/Songwriter" and "Best Folk Artist" at the '97-'98 Austin Music Awards, Shawn Colvin invited her on a solo tour to 25 cities across the U.S. for the spring of '98. Ana charmed many sold-out venues, including the legendary "Warfield Theater" in San Francisco. Word quickly spread about her music, catching attention of N.P.R's Morning Edition, in which she received a favorable lengthy review. Her voice also graced the movie "The Baby Dance" produced by Jodi Foster, and her version of "Talco Girl" can be heard in the Sundance Film Festival nominee "Happy Texas."

Ana is again joining Iris Dement on a mid-west tour while releasing her second full-length CD on her own label Grace Records. The CD "Mile Marker" is a live solo acoustic recording, highlighting her "Bonnie Raitt like blanket of a voice" (Austin Chronicle). Released in March, The CD includes nine original songs and three covers. In support of the new release, Ana is planning a widespread coast to coast solo tour this spring/summer including a showcase of SXSW.
