Artist Bio

Ann McNamee’s portfolio of over 200 songs offers a fresh perspective on relationships and the ever-changing world. Her lyrics and melodies showcase her willingness to be touched, along with a wry acknowledgement of the joys and pains of living. Her doctorate in classical music theory demonstrates that she knows about the rules she’s breaking. Influenced by such diverse masters as Carole King, Lennon and McCartney, Bob Dylan, Elton John, the Velvet Underground, and Igor Stravinsky, Ann composed for and sang with the Flying Other Brothers Band from 1999 to 2006. She currently writes, sings, and tours with the popular San Francisco band Moonalice, led by her husband Roger McNamee.

Ann Atomic’s three albums have three members in common: Ann McNamee on vocals, GE Smith on guitars, and Roger Love on background vocals. This coincides with the song writing, arranging, and production team for all of the songs.

Cracks In The Sidewalk, Ann Atomic’s most recent album, adds Melvin Seals on piano, Jon Evans on bass, and Curt Bisquera on drums and percussion. Some tracks feature Roger Love on keyboard.

Complicated Eyes, Ann Atomic’s sophomore effort, keeps this team of players, with Melvin on Hammond organ.

Crazy In Heaven, Ann Atomic’s debut album, features Jack Casady on bass and bass balalaika with Jim Keltner on drums and percussion. Several tracks also feature T Bone Burnett on guitar, Keefus Ciancia on piano, and Wayne Jackson of The Memphis Horns.
