![]() It was a mushroomy kind o'day...the sun was shining, the birds were singing and the Luv Punks were cheering: Battershell was playing the Lilith Fair...almost. A second place finish in a '98 Levi's/Lilith Fair talent search and some free tickets to see the show at Jones Beach wasn't enough to satisfy Battershell's Tammy Lynn, Hannah Head & Charlie Lauth's quest for taking over the galaxy. They had to play! And so, with the crazed determination of Dizzy, the Tattooed Dog, Battershell busted out their instruments in the Jones Beach parking lot and wowed the crowd with their blend of music and madness, "Luv Punk". For over two hours, Battershell held a huge audience of Lilith Fairies wantingly captive and desperately hoping that this band that was kicking butt outside in the parking lot could be kicking some major ass inside on stage. Cameras clicked, people danced, autographs were sought and then...the cops came to town and pulled the plug on the Battershell juke box. But before the party came to an official end, hundreds of stickers, postcards and posters were sucked up by the crowd. Battershell had succeeded: Lilith Fairies were now Luv Punks and luving every minute of it.
It would seem that more than a few wishes came true that day as Battershell now punks up to officially play the Lilith Fair in Charlotte, North Carolina on July 27, 1999 and also releases their new CD worldwide, LUV PUNKS, Dedicated to all their awesomely freaky fans). But whether it be stage, parking lot, or moon, Battershell "Luv Punk" will be there and soon, the entire galaxy will be only one luv punk away.
