Grace in Gravity

GRACE: Elegance of Form, Manner, or Motion.

GRAVITY: The ever-present and powerful balancing force of mutual attraction between all elements.

"Grace In Gravity" is Sue Vogel on vocals, Matt Strippelhoff on guitar, Dave Horvath on drums and Russ Dolezal on bass. This Cincinnati based group has brought together various influences to create their unique sound. Sue's delicate vocal style combined with the power of the music inspired the name "Grace In Gravity".

"Grace In Gravity" began in the fall of 1995. Matt was playing his acoustic guitar when a close friend telephoned to chat for awhile. During this conversation Matt expressed his desire to find another songwriter to work with. As fate would have it, his friend knew of just the right person, Sue Vogel. That very evening the two of them met and wrote their first song together. That song, "Living in a World" is still one of their most requested.

Sue began to work with Matt and his band "Thistle Moon". After several successful shows and their first five song demo the members began to move in different directions. In the Fall of 1996 Sue and Matt reformed the group as "Grace In Gravity". Changes in the direction of the music continued and soon things changed in the line up as well.

Russ Dolezal joined "Grace In Gravity" in the spring of 1997 to replace bassist Ritch Parrish. Dave Horvath joined the group in the fall of 1997 to replace percussionist Dave Maupin. Russ and Dave have added their own styles to the songs and contributed a great deal in way of song writing. Everything finally came together, and the groove was on!

"Grace in Gravity" debut CD Release Party is July 17th at York Street Intl. Cafe' in Newport KY.
