![]() Ever since I saw the Murmurs play a packed hotbox Hollywood club -- a mad house, sweat-inducing set of tumultuous, titillating tunes that shook up the rowdy rafter-swingers, I've had my eye on the two talented girls and they've been in a fascinating state of flux since they recorded their risky, frisky release for MCA, Pristine Smut almost a year ago. "We were writing for our next album," says Heather Grody, half of the saucy dollduo, "and we were so excited about the new songs!" Then Leisha chimes in, "We wanted to take the best of both and combine the two!" Rather than wait to do a whole new album, the girls approached MCA about combining the new tracks with their favorites off of Pristine Smut . With this very unusual move, the boisterous new Murmurs marvel, Blender was born. Blender reflects the Murmurs' newfound freedom in the bouncy La Di Da with its sweet creamy harmonies -- "Don't you want to show me off?/ Won't you take me for a walk?/ I need attention." Finally, "We made a pact to continue no matter what," Heather says, "the Murmurs have been together for eight years and we're committed for the long haul."
It's time to plug your headsets into Blender , a smart, provocative and spirited uproar of music by a couple of fearlessly
gifted girls Ü Heather Grody and Leisha Hailey -- the Murmurs.
