Women Helping Women provides the following confidential and free services to
residents of Cincinnati and Southwestern Ohio:
PROTECT Hotline [A joint project with the YWCA]: 24 hour/7 day a week
hotline for sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking issues and
referrals to appropriate community services.
Hospital Accompaniment:
Around-the-clock support to rape victims in area
hospital emergency rooms.
Crisis Intervention:
One-on-one sessions to help victims deal with the
immediate after-effects or emerging memories of sexual assault, domestic
violence and stalking.
Court Advocacy:
Court accompaniment, advocacy and support for victims of
sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking.
Support Groups:
Weekly meetings to provide support and education for victims
of sexual assault or domestic violence.
Child Sexual Abuse Awareness and Date Rape/Dating Violence Prevention
Programs:
Age-appropriate presentations to teach students to recognize and
avoid sexual abuse and date rape/dating violence.
Community Education:
Professional training for police, medical personnel,
social service providers and other professionals who deal with sexual
assault, domestic violence and stalking victims; as well as speeches to
civic, church and social groups on topics such as sexual assault, domestic
violence and stalking as well as intervention and prevention techniques.
Deaf and Hard of Hearing Outreach Program:
Crisis intervention and community
education services to victims of sexual assault and domestic violence who
are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Training for professionals about working with
Deaf and Hard of Hearing victims is also available.
Women Helping Women, Inc. serves Southwestern Ohio as a unique provider of
crisis intervention and support services for primary and secondary victims
of sexual assault and domestic violence and takes a leading role in
educating the community regarding incest, rape, and domestic abuse in order
to help eliminate these crimes.
