Dates Appearing: August 12, 13
Current Release:

Holly McNarland played her first gigs at after-hours parties held regularly at The Tom Tom Club in Winnipeg, where she worked. Her second gig was opening for Acoustically Inclined at the Spectrum Cabaret. Holly's next show was broadcast live on radio and was performed at the closing ceremonies for Earth Day 91.

Holly is now 20 years old and lives in Vancouver. Her songs and performances reflect the bleak outlook yet free spirit common to her generation. Holly's acoustic-punk writing style shows off her ability not only as a storyteller with a message but as a singer/guitarist with a sound and voice so dynamic that she leaves the crowd in awe with every single performance.

"Holly McNarland was a surprise with interesting vocals."

..... Josephine Ochei, Terminal City magazine

This is one of several favourable comments after Holly's two Music West performances. Holly opened up for Cargo/MCA recording artist Merlin at The Senses Feast benefit at Graceland on the opening night of Music West. Two days later, Holly showcased her talent to a packed house at The Talking Stick coffee house. Several record-company and publishing-company representatives left this show with expressed interest in following Holly's development.

Now that Holly has the attention of her music industry peers, there is simply no stopping her. Holly is preparing for a busy future. This includes performing with her new band, consisting of former Bob's Your Uncle guitarist James Younger as well as Mark Botnik on drums and Mark McGovern on bass. Plans for early 1995 include the recording of a second demo with producer/engineer Dale Penner. Holly McNarland has just begun to make an impact that has unmeasurable potential.
