LILITH FAIR: THE SAN FRANCISCO TREAT posted Tuesday, July 8, 1997 Mountain View, CA 8:30PM PDTJewel is on stage right now. Everyone is having a great time. These San Franciscans know how to make people feel welcome. There's a little flu bug floating around the Lilith camp. Jocelyn, our media contact was the first to fall. It seems to have gone from Jocelyn straight to Paula's dressing room. Both are holding up very well, though. We're waiting to see who gets struck next. Suzanne Vega's dressing room is next to Paula's, so she might be a good bet. 2:30PM PDTIt's a perfect day today. Not too hot, lots of blue sky, and our air conditioner is working just fine, thank you for asking. This is a great venue. You can tell that they really like music and respect the artists here. Lunch was great, there's lots of fruit, a ping pong table (Cassandra Wilson's drummer looked like she was kicking the guitar player's butt), flowers, picnic tables, showers (very important), and four Sega Saturn stations. Haven't seen anyone killing aliens yet. There's also a little basketball court. The Nettmedia team is think of challenging Sarah's crew to a game. Of what, we're not sure, but hopefully it won't be basketball because we'd likely get trounced. |
