There was so much energy here tonight. Everyone had a great time. Fiona, Mary Chapin, and Sarah all had extrordinary sets. The feeling was right, everything fell into place.

Fiona closed her set with an Jimi Hendrix song (i'm not old enought to know which one). Mary Chapin got some of the loudest applause of the evening, and Sarah was Sarah. She was in fine form. Must be those stairmater workouts.

Are we ever having a good time in Bonner Springs. The weather is wonderful. It didn't get too hot and yesterday's humidity is nowhere to be found. And other than one drunk buffoon that fit the stupid drunk guy stereotype to a "T" the crowd has been great. They are here to see and hear music and they are getting to treated to some of the best performances of the tour.

Tara MacLean continues to win fans everytime she picks up a guitar. If September 67 aren't the absolute best band this side of Stereolab then i don't know who is. But Shannon and Kirstin continue to wow the crowd with their songs. Kim Fox and Garrison Starr had great days at the Village Acoustic stage with lots of people crowding around to get a look. Wild Colonials have surprised everyone with their energy and sound. They just finished a great cover of Donovan's "Hurdy Gurdy Man." And Tracy Bonham raised the volume of Lilith a notch or two with her songs. It's nice to have you here, Tracy.

Still to come tonight are Paula Cole (just got off her bus and walked towards the stage for her set), Fiona Apple, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Sarah McLachlan. Oh, and dinner. It's time to go eat.

We're in Kansas! We like the venue. It's a little smaller, or so it seems than some of the other amphitheatres we've been at and the audience feels like it is closer to the stage. One thing all the artists have commented on is the feeling that they are removed from the audience when playing venues this size. You don't necessarily get to look people in the eye, instead you are looking at the crowd as a crowd instead of individuals.

Things are progressing nicely today. It's going to be another hot one.
