Got a Question?

Do you have a question you'd like to ask some of the artists on Lilith Fair but don't know how to go about it? Well, we'd like to try to help you. Each day before things get too crazy around here there is a press conference with some of the artists. We never know who will be there, but we always are. And we'd like to ask some questions for you. So send us your question and maybe, just maybe we'll ask it for you. We can only do a few a day, but maybe it will be yours. We'll post your questions and the artist's answers right after the conference ends.

July 15 - St. Louis, MO

To Sarah from Alice in Chicago:
Q. Why is the charitable aspect so important to the tour?

Sarah: It allows us to feel a sense of empowerment. It's great that women are finally getting to have a strong voice, one that people are now listening to. As a woman in a position of power, it's nice to be able to give something back to the communities.

To any artists from Lindy in New York:
Q. Did anyone have any second thoughts about joining the tour? Was there a fear of being tagged forever with the "singer/songwriter" or even the dreaded "manhater" tags?

Angela from Wild Colonials: No. This is amazing opportunity. The tag is nonsense.
Tara: I didn't hesitate for a second.
Kim: This is an honour for me. I have looked up to so many of the women on this tour for so long.
Shannon from September 67: I had felt stuck and limited by the "singer/songwriter" tag. That's why I came up with a band. I know the reason is sad, but I'm very glad that I have a band with Kristin. I'm getting over some of my own preconceived notions that I know are wrong. This tour is helping me with that.
Garrison: It's a huge honour. It's ignorant that anyone would label anyone a "manhater" who is on this tour. It's amazing what Sarah did putting this together.

To Sarah from Michael in Charlottesville, VA
Q. Are you going to do this again next year?

Sarah: Absolutely again. And I want to start including men as headliners on the tour. THere are alot of great male performers like Ron Sexsmith who aren't getting the recognition that they deserve. This year was to prove a point.
