 Wednesday, July 15, 1998 New York, New York Virtually everyone I know was at Jones Beach. All my former Arista co-workers, etc. We had a good day. It's really nice at Jones Beach because it's right on the water and it used to be that you would walk on what seemed like boardwalk and could see the water underneath you. All around the stage is water. I was too busy to really appreciate it. Julie & I would keep making new signs thinking of new ways to write up the signs and see what was most interesting to people. We had fun thinking of new "specials" and all. I ran into Ash, Sarah's husband & drummer, backstage and he took me to say hello to Sarah. She has been so supportive of B-girl and I was glad to get a chance to say thanks to her for the Lilith opportunity. I then introduced myself to the Indigo Girls. They are so nice. I had dealt with them often in connection with Patti Smith and my friend, Lisa, is their publicist. So we have several connections and yet, I had never met them. So that was very special. They are so uniquely genuine. This was my first night on the tour bus. Something I could not totally have imagined. I knew beforehand the fewer questions I asked in advance, the less I would have to be nerv ous about. This was probably for the best. It's an adjustment sleeping in a bunk which contains your bed.
