Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Today's show in Oklahoma city today proved to be much more exciting than the day off. Yesterday, I thought I was going to lose my mind due to boredom. There was NOTHING close to the hotel, and I ended up walking about 2 miles to a mall simply because there was nothing else better to do. But my email was working for the first time in over a week so I had a chance to catch up, and I sent out some postcards.

The venue here was pretty nice, though security didn't seem to really be doing their job. One guard in particular was seen letting people backstage because they had a TICKET (not an all-access pass). I liked the way it was set up, as getting around from stage to stage was pretty quick and easy (unlike in New Mexico). The weather was warm but not nearly as hot has it has been.

I managed to get a really good photo of Natalie Merchant today. I was hanging out backstage, first taking photos of Rex and then talking to Natelie's guitar player. I hadn't actually met Natelie yet but didn't think she'd mind me taking her photo. I don't think she actually did, but she jokingly got mad at me for taking a picture without introducing myself first. Her expression in the photo was great! It was cool because the incident broke the ice; I told her about what Nettmedia is doing and we spoke again for a few minutes after her set. She wasn't feeling well today but agreed to be interviewed for the Lilith Fair site at a later date.

I found out today about a slight change in my Lilith plans. Rather than leave on the 9th after Detroit and thn coming back a week later, I'll just be staying on until the NY show. Then I'll be back again in August. Aside from the fact that I'll be missing Holly McNarland's appearances, that plan is fine by me.
