George, Washington

Very hot and hilly at the Gorge. But very, very beautiful. The Mainstage is set against the backdrop of a huge ravine, at the bottom of which is a long, winding river. You can just make out the white trails of boats and jet skis. You would never think this sort of scenery happened in Washington State. It seems more like the southwest. It's fairly indescribable. Not too much happening second day at the Gorge. It's pretty much a repeat of the first day. I did, however, get some new, interesting footage of the Indigo Girls. They do a different set list every night so you never know what's going to happen. Tonight they did "Chicken Man" which includes an excellent jam from their tour manager who plays harmonica. A pleasant surprise was Sinead O'Connor. I've always liked her music but her stage presence is even better. Shortly after that they performed "Water is Wise" with Sarah McLachlan and Sinead O'Connor, both of whom contributed amazingly with their voices.
