There was much sadness around camp today. It was Sinead O'Connor's last day with Lilith Fair. It was also Bonnie Raitt's first day and she sang with Sinead on "Nothing Compares 2 U." It was interesting to hear Bonnie's twang with Sinead's marked Irish lilt. It worked well, which has been one of the neat aspects of all these various collaborations going on. Unlikely combinations make for interesting and unique live shows. Lilith goers are definitely getting a special treat this summer. The whole vibe and energy of the event is so much more fun and interactive than last summer. Even though I'm not a musical participant I feel it from my perspective as a documenter of happenings here at Lilith Fair. The nightly poker games between Indigo Girls, Sinead and band, and various other artists hold testament to the friendships being formed here. Not to mention the spontaneous going away party for Sinead, held in her dressing room, and thrown by Sarah. Sinead seemed geniunely touched and appreciative of the gesture.
