The third and final day here. This was the first day without the Indigo Girls and everyone (including fans) missed their presence. It's okay, they will be back. I decided to try something different in my approach to the fans today. I turned on the video camera and just started walking up the side of the lawn with the microphone on so I could pick up people's conversations and get a general sense of the overall vibe. Sometimes people noticed I was there, and sometimes they didn't. When they did it was usually a smile or a wave hello. A couple people insisted on talking, which was great. Most of these people tonight had seats so far up the lawn and then over a hill that they couldn't even see the stage. But they maintained enthusiasm for the show and were glad to be there. I met some young kids, still in highschool, who were getting drunk on Rum and professing the greatness of Trojans. They were pretty happy and goofy and very excited to see Sarah McLachlan. They asked if they could interview me and I said "sure." They were tickled. Two of the boys interviewed me while Renee did the video-taping. It was really nice meeting them, they were sweet kids.
