Sunday, July 12, 1998 Saratoga Springs, New York This by far is the most beautiful venue we have played at so far. The grounds were tree-covered and grassy. The sky was bright blue with puffy clouds. The temperature was warm enough for shorts and a t-shirt, but I never broke a sweat. This was a crowd which seemed to have a particularly good attitude. Everyone seemed out for a good time, no matter what. The place was so huge that people were spread out everywhere. Their blankets were covered with snacks, candles and people snoozing, laughing or just enjoying the moment. A lot of these people were no where near even seeing a speck of the performer but they still were enjoying themselves. I love seeing people just having a good time with their friends. It was a pretty low profile day all around. Nothing exciting, just another Lilith day on the road. It seems like an eternity has gone by, three whole weeks so far and a whole lot more to come. I'm too tired to figure exactly how long right now. I just know we are not half way though the tour yet. It's better this year than last, in terms of getting to know everyone. That might be attributed to my change in position. I know quite a few names and always look forward to chatting with certain people. Everyone smiles and says "hi," even if you don't remember their name. [ back ]
