![]() Wednesday, July 22, 1998 Raleigh, North Carolina Not so hot today. Well, it was very hot, just not as hot as yesterday. We get a new power pack tomorrow (for our computer) so everything should be back to normal (knock on wood). Today was Queen Latifah's first day with us. She is definitely the queen of rap. She was so much fun on stage. Her and her co-rapper wore costumes made to look like gas station attendants, Latifah's costume tore apart at the arms and bottom half of the legs. Queen Latifah has a great message of empowerment and self-knowledge for women. Her interaction with the audience got them riled up and moving in their seats. It really is nice to have more diversity this year. If not only to force people who classify themselves in one genre of music to listen to something they might not have. If a Bonnie Raitt fan leaves liking Queen Latifah, that's pretty cool if they never heard her music before. Sometimes force-feeding has benefits. |
