Jennifer's Archives August 2 August 3 August 4 August 5 August 6 |
![]() Saturday, August 8, 1998 Cincinnati, Ohio For some reason this show started an hour later, at 4pm instead of 3pm. Which is nice for starting but not for finishing, because that means we have to stay up an hour later which seems really hard. Maybe, it's just because we've been out on the road for so long now. This venue was right on the river, hence the name. Last year, I remember there was a boat accident here after the show. It seems like everyone pulls their boats up to the shore and hangs out, listening to the music. At catering for dinner (which overlooks the river) we were sitting watching the boaters enviously. I didn't see much of today's main stage show because I was mostly in the village doing interviews and taking pictures. I know it was Emmylou Harris' first day which I was sorry to miss. I'll have to catch her tomorrow. I interviewed Jennifer Schosson from Starbucks, but is also a singer/songwriter, and has been playing at Tower Records occasionally. She has a CD out called "Jengirl" which she has been selling out here also, apparently fairly well. It's neat that people are taking the time to stop and listen to her play even though she is not on the bill, or a stage. Her stint with Lilith Fair will be ending soon; she is going to follow on her own and continue playing at Tower, right up to the very end. There are still a few TBA's left for the village stage on the final leg of the tour. It would be really neat if she got to play a slot on the village stage. |
