![]() Thursday, August 20, 1998 Milwaukee, Wisconsin How exciting to be in the city of Laverne and Shirley, I could really feel their presence. This venue is sort of strange in that the village is underneath a super highway structure which creates a really futuristic sort of ambience. The people seemed to be a friendly, attentive group. In fact, I met a really nice girl named Brianna who is a big fan of the web site. She some how figured out that I worked for the site and introduced herself to me. It was really nice to get some good feedback from a person who visits the site regularly. Paula Cole has just recently joined the tour which has been a refresher. Her performance is very dynamic and full of a unique sort of energy that comes from the way she carries herself on stage. It seems very Yoga influenced. She also really uses her facial expressions to convey certain emotions. In "Jolene" her face and voice take on a completely different character, almost like putting on a mask. She contorts her face and makes low growling noises. It's very enthralling to watch, I can't help but to just stare at her performance. Lisa Loeb and Joan Osborne are new to the tour as of Milwaukee but I haven't had much of a chance to check them out. |
