Minneapolis, Minnesota

I hate to say that I intensely dislike this venue. That, of course is no reflection on the people of the area. But, we played this venue last year and it was bad then, too. Canterbury Park is in actuality a racehorse track. So the mainstage was set up on one end, creating a long, narrow field with the village being at the other end. Then add about 30,000 people and you've got a ferocious bottle neck effect happening. Huge crowds like that me claustrophobic when I'm in the middle of it trying to get from one end to the other. It's very hard not to start panicking.

Another really interesting feature to this venue was the port-o-shower. I had never seen these facilities before so it was a new experience for me. They look exactly like port-o-potty except that instead of a toilet there's a nozzle and the floor is a metal, mesh grate that serves as the drain as well. It is diagonally cut in half by a shower curtain which serves as the changing area. The water temperature and pressure was great, though. It was certainly better than nothing and I've had way worse showers indoors.
