 Sunday, July 26, 1998 West Palm Beach, Florida Yesterday was a day off in Palm Springs, Florida. I've never been to Florida before. . . I guess it just doesn't attract me, since I'm not big on lying on the beach, I don't swim much (but I did yesterday and it was wonderful!), and I don't eat seafood (I'm vegan). When I visit a place I've never been to, I like to really see it, cover as much ground as possible to get a sense of the place and be able to make an informed decision on whether I like it or not. But on days off on tour you're lucky if your room is ready when you get there--mine wasn't-- you're in a good part of town--we weren't'-- and you can find some place decent for dinner--we did! We scored 1 out of 3 yesterday. Not bad (the food was really good!) but I'll hold off on my Florida assessment until I can spend some quality time here covering some ground and getting a sense of the place. |
