Xoom.com/Lilith Fair Online Talent Search Rules

Eligibility

1. Only bands with female frontpersons are eligible.
2. There can be no more than five people performing.
3. Artists who won any Lilith Fair talent search in 1998 are not eligible. (1998 and 1999 Finalists who did not win may compete in the online search)

1. Artists must submit only one song ("demo")
   • Either upload an MP3 file to the Media Sharehouse at http://sharehouse.xoom.com/lilithfair/

2. By uploading or sending in submissions to the XOOM.com/Lilith Fair Online Talent Search, you agree to XOOM.com's Terms of Service as well as these contest rules. You may view the Terms of Service at http://xoom.com/TOS/
3. Demos will not be returned. XOOM.com is not responsible for the return of demos, quality of MP3 encoding, unencodeable media or lost packages. You are responsible for obtaining all rights and clearances required for the placement of the demos on the media sharehouse.

1. Band name, song name, band members' names, XOOM.com member name, email address, age, phone number, and physical address with city, state, zip, and country to be valid. Any lack of information could result in disqualification. In the event that you do not have a XOOM.com member name, the song will become fullname_Lilith. Your password will become "password" until you change it.
2. Only the first song received from each artist will be accepted; duplicate entries could result in disqualification from the talent search.
3. Demo submissions do not have to reflect a five piece performance (but actual Lilith Fair performance must include no more than five performers).
4. By submitting a demo to the contest, artist gives Lilith Fair and XOOM.com the rights to distribute that demo digitally, and expresses that no other party can claim rights to or control of artist's entry.

1. Visitors to the Lilith Fair area of XOOM.com's Media Sharehouse will download, listen to, and vote on their favorite songs. The ten songs that receive the most votes by August 1, 1999 will be forwarded to a panel of judges who will then select a winner. Winners will be announced on the Lilith Fair website at www.lilithfair.com on August 10, 1999.
2. The panel of judges will be selected by Lilith Fair and XOOM.com.
3. The ten selected finalists will be judged on originality, musical ability and instrumentation, and vocal performance.
4. This is not a songwriting competition.

1. The grand prize includes the opening performance on the "Village Stage" at the August 19 presentation of Lilith Fair at the New World Music Theatre in Tinley Park, Illinois. Up to five band members and two management representatives (to represent a number no greater than seven (7)) will be provided with air transportation, ground transportation and two nights lodging for the performance by XOOM.com or one of it's partners.
