![]() Collective Soul are making their triumphant return to the modern rock scene, and from the looks of things, it couldn't happen at a better time. What with the recent glut of electronica and ska influenced music, to say nothing of the current rock/rap hybrid trend, it seems that never before has popular music so needed a nice, strong dose of good old-fashioned guitar rock. Fortunately, Collective Soul's new album, Dosage, has the prescribed amounts of chunky guitar sounds, churning rhythms, and even strings and piano for that epic, arena anthem sound. And of course, there are a few heaping spoonfuls of pop sugar -- Ed Roland's trademark super-tight songcraft, luch melodies, and gigantic choruses -- to help the rock & roll medicine go down. Dosage includes the tracks "Run," (also included on the Varsity Blues Soundtrack) "Heavy," and "No More, No Less."
