After such a wonderful opening in Vancouver working with the Positive Women's Network it was hard to believe that anything could top it. Then came the morning sun over the Gorge. One of the most spectacular sights that one could ever behold. The beauty is such a testament to life - a testament made even more poignant by the stories shared at the Lifebeat booth. We listened as person after person shared stories of a brother, sister, father or cousin living with HIV. Our own thoughts turned to those dear friends and favorite uncles who died of AIDS.

For as many people who stopped by the booth who were well educated about HIV and safe sex -- the disturbing image of one girl lingers. She was 21 and very pretty. She passed away the free condoms because she was in a "monogamous" relationship.

We still have a long way to go.
