lifebeat's Diary

Lifebeat Daily Diary
Saturday, July 10 - The Gorge
ASO Partner - Northwest Aids Foundation

Each day at Lilith Fair keeps getting better and better. The crowd today was estimated at 17,000 and they were full of questions and comments.

I think that the standout of the day would be the tale of two mothers. Two women with two different attitudes that will eventually shape the views of their young daughters.

The first mother comes to the table to see what information we have. As soon as she spies the bucket of condoms she covers her young daughter's eyes and rushes her away.

Mother number two's young daughter picks up the packet and asks her mother what they are. Mother number two simply responds "they are something for Daddy to use" - the child asks may she bring him some and she and the mother pack five comdoms in her bag as a gift for Daddy.

No fussing & no flustering - a simple answer that satisfied a child's question.

A refreshing site to behold.
