Lifebeat Daily Diary ASO Partner - Northwest Aids Foundation Surprise...Austin has been the most comfortable place weatherwise. An early shower cooled the day. So what the little mosquitoes had quite a feast on my arms and legs. It was a great day!Our AIDS Service Partner - AIDS Services of Austin - was all over the place with brochures and condoms. They had some really great prevention information - especially for women and teens. As a little game we were asking people what the letters HIV and AIDS stood for. We thought that it would be a cute and simple way for people to win the tee-shirts and Tower Records coupons that we had. The sad fact was that so many people did not know. We knew that the transmission question may be a little tricky but we thought that most people would know that HIV is Human Immune deficiency Virus and that AIDS is Acquired Immune deficiency Syndrome. This is one of the reasons that tour outreach and outreach in general is so important. Education is Power! Education is Safety! |
