FInger Lakes
Finally a pleasant day weatherwise - not too hot - not too cool - absolutely
perfect. Our tent was on top of a hill overlooking a beautiful lake and trees.
AIDS Rochester was our partner for the day. Mark from AIDS Rochester
lectures at
the local community college and a number of students who were at his HIV and/or
Human sexuality lectures stopped by the table. Many were saying how much they
loved his lectures. One stated that it opened his eyes and change his
perception
of HIV and homosexuality.
Sometimes all it takes to open a mind is an answered question. People come
to us
with a lot of questions about HIV prevention and transmission. We got a lot of
questions today about transmission through oral sex and the use of dental dams
and lubricant. The idea that brushing and flossing before oral sex could leave
openings for transmission really shocked a couple of people.
But it gave them something to think about.
