Talent Search Stories - Atlanta by Carolyn Snell Not to jinx myself (or upset any past or future venues), but the Atlanta was one of the smoothest and most successful shows thus far. Set in the Variety Playhouse, family and friends viewed the Talent Search Finalists from movie theatre-style seats. I was impressed by not only the talent of the artists, but also by the support of the audience. I don't know if I was more excited for the winners or about the energy of the cheering crowd when the two champions ran down the aisle of the Playhouse to accept their awards on stage (very similar to "The Price Is Right"). Standout performances of the night included August's Assembly's Christian-spirited rock song and Mimi's (from Mimi & Merelyn) "Howl At the Moon," which could have passed for an old country favorite. Finalist Jessica King was nervous before she performed because the judges took a break while she was waiting on the side of the stage. Luckily, their break didn't break their concentration and Jessica was named runner up. The two soulful artists who will play at Lilith Fair are Doria Roberts (to play on July 23rd) and Soul Miner's Daughter (to play on July 24th). The MC of the evening was David from Lakewood Amphitheatre and the judges included:
